We are a California Special District which manages a commercial harbor and a marina in San Mateo County. San Mateo County Harbor District is governed by a five member, publicly elected board of commissioners. The commercial harbor serves the greater coast side communities and the many visitors who arrive to utilize the pathways, hiking trails and access to a plethora of access to surf, and other human powered small craft opportunities.

The commercial harbor of Pillar Point has an active commercial fishing fleet, fish buying and landing services as well as a small fraction of recreational boaters. The San Mateo County Harbor district is in a unique position of having both a San Francisco Bay side marina and the Oceanside commercial harbor.
